FirstLook

The BA-64 armoured car was produced in the Soviet Union from the Spring of 1943 until 1946, making it suitable for any settings from mid-war until well into the Cold War era.

Maquette's 1/35 scale BA-64B armoured car kit is just the way I like it - a nice simple model!

The kit is well moulded in grey plastic on three sprues that rattle around the box.

Detail on the tyres is particularly good , but the machine gun is a bit half-hearted. The rest of the detail is fairly good. The sprues do exhibit some light flash but this should not take too long to clean up.

In fact, I estimate that the whole kit should not take more than a few hours to finish straight from the box.

Markings are supplied for two vehicles.

I look forward to building Maquette's 1/35 scale BA-64B. The only addition I will need is a Russian Commander to plug the turret hatch opening as there is no interior provided.

At less than USD$10.00, this kit will certainly not break the bank!
