To me, one big advantage of Italeri's re-boxings of Ex-Esci kits
is that most of the vehicles are not covered by other major
manufacturers. Unfortunatelty, I think that this kit may be somewhat
overshadowed by Revell's 1/72 scale Panther A and G kits which is a
pity because Italeri's re-popped Panther Ausf. A is really a very
good model - at least as good as Revell's much more recent kits.

No model is perfect though, and the biggest problem with this kit
is the lack of detail on the inside of the tracks. Also, the turret
does not have enough taper toward the front, making the mantlet too
wide.
On
the other hand, all the hatches may be modelled open and all the
tools are supplied as separate parts - a real benefit for modellers
who want to use the tank in a diorama setting. The new Italeri
decals are terrific too.
Overall, this is an excellent kit and, with the exception of
Revell's new releases, is miles better than any other Panthers on
the market.
Well done Italeri for bringing modellers these ex-Esci kits!
