FirstLook

I don't know of any other models of the Panhard 178 armoured car in any scale, so RPM's kit should be warmly welcomed by modellers of French vehicles and armoured cars in general.

RPM's plastic parts are cleanly moulded and reasonably well detailed with all doors and hatches - including vision hatches - moulded as separate pieces. Unfortunately, the gun breech is the only interior detail supplied.

Optional parts include a coaxial machine gun, turret hatch and periscopes/episcopes.

There are a few left-over mystery parts included that are not mentioned in the instructions. I guess that they are for other marks but it would be nice to be told in the instructions that the parts are not for use. Also, a vision hatch for the rear door should be included, but has been omitted by RPM.

I have misplaced the decals, so I cannot comment on them other to say that the kit definitely does come with markings for three French machines.

In summary, this is a very nice kit that a wide range of modellers can appreciate.
