I'm writing to let you know about a book soon to be published by Thin Air Publishing.

This book is a collection of the photographs from the late Judson Brohmer, a world renown aviation photographer. I had the great pleasure to get to know Judson during the time I spent at Edwards Air Force Base in California.

Judson was killed in during an F-16 photo chase mission in July of 2001.

Judson's wife and children, with some help from their friends, founded Thin Air Publishing to finish a project that Judson began before his death. "Breaking Free" is the compilation of many of Judson's breathtaking photographs. The book is a 10x12 inch hard-cover coffee table volume, with 248 pages of full spread photos, and a a full-length DVD of some of Judson's videos. It is narrated by the pilots who flew with Judson, some of the best in the world. Judson’s aerial photographs have graced the front covers of many aviation magazines including Aviation Week and Space Technology. His pictures have published all over the world in magazines such as U.S. News, TIME, Newsweek, Smithsonian Air & Space, Flug Review, Flight International, Volare, Air Force Magazine, and others. His aerial videos have appeared on The Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, CNN, NOVA, “Wings”, “The Battle of the X-Planes”, and the 2000 Air Force add campaign.

Thin Air Publishing is ready to begin publication and is offering "Breaking Free" with the DVD at the pre-order price of $55.00. After June 15 the price will increase to $70.00. The book is expected to ship in July 2003.
