FirstRead

NASCAR Ford Taurus is the first in a series of Racecar Tech books that concentrates on the one specific model of car at a time.. This series will be to car modellers what the Warbird Tech series is to aircraft modellers.

And what a fantastic book this is. It covers the NASCAR Ford Taurus which replaced the Thunderbird in 1998. More than 300 photos are provided of the car as well as garage and pit shots. These are perfect reference for a diorama setting or to super detail a model.

The book has seven chapters which cover the history of Ford and NASCAR, Chassis, Body, Interior, Suspension, Engine & Drive Train and The Taurus on the Track.

Two Appendices are included. One is a Modeler's Resource which provides a summary of available kits, aftermarket parts and decals.

The second Appendix covers both stock and NASCAR Taurus specifications and Ford NASCAR Winston Cup Wins from 1949 to 2003.

Each chapter has explains in technical detail, and with the help of pictures, every aspect of this car, from the shell being built to the fate that awaits "old cars", is well covered in entertaining style.

Conclusion

Specialty Press describes the Racecar Tech series as an "Inside Guide For Race Fans and Scale Builders". This seems to be a fair assessment. The first title in the series is a great start, and will be welcomed by car modellers - Ford fans in particular!

The photos will be a benefit to car modellers looking to add that extra touch of authenticity to their project.

Highly Recommended.
