VLS of the USA and Pegaso of Italy have launched a brand new joint-venture range of WWII figures under the brand of "Platoon". The first eight releases are all single figures and are snugly enclosed in unique packaging. In fact, the slim boxes look more likely to contain a pack of cards than a resin figure. Don't worry though, the contents will delight WWII figure modellers. The first four figures are sculpted by Andrea Jula, and all represent German subjects. They are:
The next set of four figures are US Infantry figures sculpted by Bill Chillstrom. They are presented as two sets of complimentary pairs, and all four could certainly be used in a single diorama :
All eight figures are frozen in action poses - running, firing weapons, kneeling or even one throwing a potato masher grenade. The figures are beautifully sculpted, with a high standard of casting also being maintained. Parts breakdown is logical in all cases. Casting blocks should not present a problem. Even the weapons are cast onto a single attachment point at the butt, instead of the usual Warriors practice of sizeable attachments along the length of the part. Whether these figures are used individually in vignettes or teamed up for a larger diorama, they should prove to be a very popular addition to the figure modellers' collection. All Recommended.
