Schatton Modellbau Products has been producing high quality
barrels, munitions and accessories for the modeller in 1/87, 1/72, 1/76,
1/48 and 1/35 scales.
It was my decision to try and complete the Revell S100 S-Boat kit with
good detail that I ventured an order for the Schatton German G7E Torpedoes.
The
Torpedo body is turned brass and has all the definition marks for the arming
fuses and the driving bands that seperate the main sections of the torpedo.
You are also supplied with a very small brass etched fret, to add fine
details for the arming propellor, the twin screw rear drive propellers and
the fins for the rear.
Add to this a small bag of brass pins to mount the props and you have
some very fine detail. The design of the fins alows them to interlock and
then align into the machined channels on the torpedo body.
A simple but effective instruction sheet is provided along with some
Schatton Modellbau preview paperwork.
Any criticism? None.
Further items coming or in production for the waterborne modeller include
Periscopes for the Revell U-Boat, 2 types supplied (cat no:7241), the 88mm
cannon barrel for Revell U-Boat (cat no:7247) and a set of 6 Depth Charges
to suit the E and S Boats (cat no:7242).
The Airborne builder has a wide range of barrels, including the Mk103 and
FuG 220 Dipole aerials for German Night Fighters.
Armour modellers have a range of barrels and the manufacturer is going to
produce a 1/35 scale 88mm panzeschreck later in the year.
