Hecker and Goros has released two sets of three 1/72 scale crew figures for Revell's big new Type VIIC U-Boat.

The figures are each presented in one piece, cast beautifully in white metal and ready to paint. There are no seam lines or casting connections on any of the figures in my review samples.

Packaging is compact but stout, with each figure residing in a separately sealed section of a plastic bag. This ensures that the figures are not damaged during delivery.

Both sets include one officer and two crew. Set KSHG 200 has one figure in full oilskins; while KSHG 201 features a figure standing on the rail of the periscope mount. This figure has a cutout on the rear designed to snugly fit against the appropriate part on the Revell kit. If you don't want to place the figure in this location, it would be quite a simple matter to fill the cavity.

Please note that in the photos, the figures have not been prepared or cleaned up in any way, and are standing on their own two feet straight from the bag. The only exception is the figure designed to be mounted on the periscope base.

Although the figures are designed especiallyfor the new 1/72 scale Revell U-Boat, they will be equally appropriate for the S-Boats from Revell or Airfix, or any other 1/72 scale Kreigsmarine subject.

These figures will be a terrific finishing touch for your big U-Boat, lending context and a sense of scale.

Recommended.

Thanks to Hecker & Goros for the review sample.
