UpNorth's latest addition is a scribing template set for the classic Monogram 1/48 scale F-100D Super Sabre kit.

In common with the earlier set for the Mirage IV, these new templates are designed to improve a good quality but older kit by addressing the raised panel lines and hatches. This new product from UpNorth will  assist the modeller to re-scribe panel line and access hatch details on the F-100D Super Sabre kit.

The templates are presented as three separately numbered frets attached to a large single frame. The photo-etched brass thin enough to wrap around the curves of the Monogram kit yet thick enough to survive the exercise and be used again for other scribing tasks.

Also included in this set are several photo-etched vents and exhaust surrounds that can be glued onto the model to enhance kit detail.

Instructions provide plan and profile drawings with the part number for each scribing task clearly illustrated. My only suggestion for future releases is that it might be easier to allocate one fret number for each "side" of the aircraft - e.g. fret 1 for port side, fret 2 for stbd side, fret 3 for top, fret 4 for the bottom. This would make it a little easier to locate the numbers on the frets and match them to the instructions.

In summary, this is a handy accessory that will make it much easier to accurately scribe your classic Monogram F-100D Hun, allowing it to proudly sit beside more recent releases with its newly engraved panel lines and hatches!
